Northern White-Faced Owl: Real Transforming Bird at Kakegawa Kachoen, Shizuoka

When I watched some late-night talk show, I saw an owl that could transform himself to be plump or slender. It was so cute that I wanted to take pictures of his transformation. The next weekend, I was in the Kakegawa Kachoen Park to meet him. He is a northern white-faced owl and he spread his wings when he met another smaller owl to try to look bigger. On the other hand, when he met a bigger owl, he folded his wings to look just like a rod. That was hilarious for me! I really wanted to see the actual thing, not a video.
His name is Popo-chan and was born in 2003. I visited there in May of 2008, so he was just five years old. There were many kinds of owls in the park and all of them were charming, but Popo-chan was the best. I was so excited to see his transformation. However, the park didn’t hold his transformation show because he’d been feeling stressed about it. It was absolutely true! We should enjoy his show only through the videos. Anyway, I was able to take some pictures of him with a peaceful yawn. He is fine today in 2020, and you can meet him in Kakegawa, Shizuoka.
Here is the English webpage with his video. Please enjoy it!https://pop-japan.com/others/transforming-owl-popo-chan/
