The entrance fee included a cup of coffee and a piece of cake so we enjoyed tea time. After the break, we were guided in through the front of the tightly locked metal door, and behind the door, there was the replica of Hideyoshi’s Golden Tearoom. A tour guide unlocked the door and we entered the room. It was a breathtaking, flashy view inside the room. Almost all the furniture and tableware were gold! Of course, taking photos was strictly prohibited but we could get our souvenir photo taken by an exclusive photographer with an extra fee. Here is the commemorative picture of our visit.
Now, SGC changed its business style to deal with gold products, and I am not sure if this castle tour still exists or not, because I couldn’t find the reservation website on the Internet even in Japanese. But the tearoom definitely inhabits the castle and it is worth asking SGC for the tearoom tour if you really want to visit it.
